Two Zulu princes in South Africa were involved in a car accident following their return from a court case regarding the succession dispute. Prince Simphiwe Zulu and Prince Vanana Zulu, who are part of King Misuzulu kaZwlithini's inner circle, were traveling from Pretoria to KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday evening when the incident occurred.
According to Prince Africa Zulu, the spokesperson for the royal family, the princes' injuries are not severe and are considered minor. This collision coincides with the ongoing legal conflict within the Zulu royal family concerning King Misuzulu's claim to the throne.
Prince Simakade, King Misuzulu's half-brother, is seeking to overturn President Cyril Ramaphosa's recognition of King Misuzulu as the legitimate heir and instead be named the monarch himself. He had previously attempted to halt King Misuzulu's coronation, but his efforts were unsuccessful.
It is worth noting that the Zulu royal family receives a household allowance of approximately 80 million rand ($4.2 million; £3.4 million) and possesses 30% of the land in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province.
